HELLO
Mom to Iris. Wife to Todd. Our little family lives at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We love it here and I love sharing little bits of our life.
Hoodies.
Cool, clear skies.
Extra hot Chai with whip cream.
And football.
Here’s how I’ve spent
my September so far…
Farmers Market
on the town square.
Tailgating.
I love that we can walk to the stadium from our house.
Yet another show from our Memphis pal, Cory Branan.
Grilling out, friends,
and a Bichon invasion.
A quick work trip to Dallas.
My pretty morning view from the Fairmont.
More Razorback football.
Yesterday’s win puts Arkansas at
# 10 the in the AP poll!
That’s the real football.
I’ve been spending my time with fantasy football too.
Todd and I played each other in week one.
Despite the slow start,
The Cuddly Kittens kicked some Butt.
This week looks to be even better.
The Arkansas Razorbacks are set to play Alabama
(the number one team in the country) at home.
Bright and early the next morning
I fly to Washington D.C. for work,
with a friend in tow.
Thankfully, I’m able to stay an extra day
to play a tourist in my old town.
As mentioned, Todd and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary last week. On the actual day, we exchanged gifts and ate the mexican food I had been craving for days. We went small on the gift giving, since our real present to each other is photographed a little further down, but for his gift I finally framed our wedding invitation which was designed by our amazing artist friend, Sasha Barr.
As for my present, Todd gave me photo of us on our wedding day, autographed by former President Bill Clinton himself! The stars must have aligned, because as explained in my recent blog post, Clinton visited his old house where he and Hillary were married and, of course, where Todd and I were married too. The magic about this, is that he arrived at that house (where he hadn’t been since he moved out in the 1970s) actually ON our wedding anniversary! As part of the media, Todd not only was one of the few people allowed in the small house when Clinton arrived, but he also got to talk to him about the coincidence while Clinton wrote a note on our photo. It’s our own, little unique story that we’ll surely remember forever and now it looks like I have something else to frame!
If that weren’t enough, the next day, Todd and I enjoyed our real anniversary present – a long weekend in Las Vegas!
We drank, ate, explored, gambled, swam, and slept in.
It was fabulous.
Plane ride there.
Our amazing room at Red Rock Resort.
Views from the room.
One of the many hotel bars.
Pool time.
I love a breakfast buffet.
Exploring.
Todd won.
Another hotel bar.
Where I met up with my friend Cheryl,
who I met on my Maui trip a few months back!
I joked that we only see each other
in fabulous locations.
On our last night,
Rob Thomas played a concert by the pool.
Apparently Paris Hilton was in the front row,
but I didn’t see her.
Otherwise we’d be BFFs.
Duh.
…and I might have ordered a Philly cheese steak
at midnight.
I recently realized that the contact form
on my blog was broken. Again.
It’s up and running now,
but sadly I didn’t receive any messages
that were sent while it was down.
If you wrote, please write again.
As for my next “real” post,
it’s coming soon.
Todd and I got back from
Las Vegas tonight
and I’m stinkin tired.
