Picnic on campus

So this is what my lovely campus use to look like. After the past couple days, it’s changed to what you see in the top pic. I swear, pictures don’t even do this justice. Losing all these trees is so sad. I’m just happy our home is okay so far. President Obama (I love how that sounds btw) officially declared our area a disaster, meaning FEMA is on its way. Most places don’t have power still, so we’re stocking up on stuff when we can. We’ve been toting around little Cindy Crawford Kitty and Sadie Pup wherever we go to keep them warm. I actually tried to go to work today (with my animals) just for something to do, but they don’t have power either. Thank goodness for Brandy & Dustin’s house though! They have heat, cable, & internet. Last night we opted to sleep at Todd & Dustin’s office so that our pets could run around freely. Tonight the Razorback game is actually going on as scheduled and will be on ESPN. We’ll be there, so keep an eye out for my terrible hair and two day old outfit!

Ice Storm Update!

CHILL Zone... appropriately named

Ughhh. This is not good. We probably won’t have power for days, if not weeks. We’re staying with some friends who have power and a rockin fireplace, so at least we’re warm for now. Todd checked on our house this morning, but couldn’t even drive down the street due to all the debris. He walked down and took these shots…

ICE STORM!

Sadie & the looming ICE STORM

So we’re having a bit of an ice storm here in Northwest Arkansas. The power has been going out all around the city, but so far we still have it (fingers crossed). Unfortunately they are predicting more freezing rain/sleet for the rest of the day and into the night. We’ve already had one limb from our huge pine tree fall and crush the tops of our two storage sheds. It fell about 3 feet from where my head lays on the pillow at night, so I’ll probably be setting up a camp in the living room tonight.

Razorbacks!

Arkansas beats Texas!

I haven’t always been a sports fanatic, but in the past few years I’ve grown kind of obsessed. While I really like NFL & college football, my true love is college basketball. This year we have 3rd row season tickets to all of the home Razorback basketball games and it rules. We started off the season with a lot of promise & surprised a lot of people, but now it’s taken a turn for the worse. Win or lose, I still love going to games and I love my school team so here’s to the Hogs…

New Years!

NYE at Butternut

This New Years Eve was different than the past few years – we actually went out! We went over to Lacy & Jonathan’s house for some great company, champagne & 90s trivia. Before midnight, we headed down to the town square for a party to take pictures for Flyer Faces. Todd & a couple friends run a local website and taking photos out & about has been my tiny contribution.
