Fave Girls Swimsuits for Summer 2021

It’s almost spring so that means one thing for me – time to start watching the kid swimsuit lines roll out! Nothing gets me more excited for summer than seeing fresh, adorable suits pop up in my Intstgram feed. Growing up I always had one swimsuit and wore that one until it didn’t fit any more. I’ve subconsciously decided to take a different approach with Iris because, well, frankly I just can’t help it. The suits these days are too cute and the summer is too hot, so we’re in water any chance we get. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but Iris has a whole dresser drawer dedicated just to swimsuits. As I was going through it the other day (she has some from two summers ago that still fit!), it made me think – I should share my favorites so far this year. So here are just a few for now…

1. Pink Chicken – Joy Tankini (mixed gingham)
2. Pink Chicken – Liv Suit (cyclamen pink vine floral)
3. Pink Chicken – Joy Tankini (antique white lemons)
4. Hanna Andersson – One Piece Suit (sweet heart)
5. Hanna Andersson – Sunblock Mixie Tankini Set (power pink)
6. Hanna Andersson – Sunblock Tankini Set (Hanna red)
7. Zara – Striped Ruffle Bikini (oyster white)
8. Tea – Long Sleeve One-Piece Swimsuit (watermelons)
9. Zara – Floral Bikini (blueish)

I’m sure I’ll have even more favorites as we actually get into spring and closer to summer. In the meantime, here are some photos of Iris in the one brand that is always at the top of my summer shopping list – Pink Chicken. Cannot WAIT until she can wear this at the beach!

Products I Love: Ilia Beauty

Okay, so I admit it. I’m not a make-up person. I mean, I wear a little everyday, but it’s just not my thing. I just have no energy or desire to spend more than a few minutes on it per day. That said, I do love actually wearing it – I just don’t want to have to figure it out or spend very long getting ready. I think I’m what they call low maintenance. :) Every once in a while I’ll get inspired to try something new, but I quickly get intimidated when trying to figure out what shades match my skin tone and even more so when I try to do any eye make-up beyond mascara.

Despite all the You-Tube tutorials out there, I thought, “Surely I’m not the only one that feels this way!” so I decided to share my new found favorite: Ilia. My friend Laura recommended them a while back during a big sale and I’ve learned over time that when Laura recommends a product, you try it. Shortly after my first order arrived, I decided my whole face deserved a little Ilia. I’ve posted what I love below, but overall I just fell in love with the quality and ease of the brand. It’s made a non-make-up loving girl actually look forward to getting ready in the morning.

Here’s what I love and why I love it:

Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40
Why I love it: It’s lightweight & gives a dewy all-over glow

True Skin Serum Concealer
Why I love it: Blends in smoothly & covers up blemishes

Liquid Light
Why I love it: I use this for extra glow on my cheekbones

Ilia Multi-Stick
Why I love it: I can use it on the apples of cheeks or as lip color

Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil
Why I love it: Pairs as a nice top-coat to the multi-stick

Limited Lash Mascara
Why I love it: I’m a sucker for a good, classic black mascara & this one in top-notch

Packing my bags for the beach!

My bags are (almost) packed and I am beyond ready to hit the road for our annual trip to Rosemary Beach down in Florida. As gear up for the warmer weather, here are just a few of my current fave summer items.

Bando Wine Tote Bag | Highrise Denim Boyshorts | Quay sunnies

Beach Reading – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo | French Market Basket | Oasis Palms Dress

Wish You Were Here towel | Color Block One-Piece | First Class bag

River Weekend

This past weekend we went to Iris’ Nana & Poppy’s house in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Their house is what grandchild dreams are made of. Nestled right on the Little Red River, we navigated between the homemade cookies and sweet tea inside, to the cool fog on on the dock outside. Trying to take advantage of the scenery, Iris and I had fun wearing dresses and having an impromptu photo shoot (my dress & Iris’ dress both courtesy of Velveteen).

A Few February Photos

Last weekend we had an unbelievably beautiful, warm day – in early February, mind you. I’m talking 80 degrees and sunny. I’ve had a cold for nearly two weeks now, but I made myself get out of bed and enjoy at least a little bit of the day. The light was so perfect (almost as good as that late-summer sun), so we snapped a few photos.

Iris was recently gifted her dress from one of my all-time favorite children’s lines, Pink Chicken. I first discovered the brand when she was just six-months-old. I went to a local boutique to pick out outfit for our very first family photoshoot and fell in love with this little number:

Now on to our photos from the other day!

Since I actually got dressed that day, I jumped in for a couple shots (I bought my dress from Anthropologie & Pons shoes by Avarcas USA):

…May your days be as sunny and bright!
